Mindful Movement

Dates: Tuesday August 23rd and Thursday August 25th
Time: 10:00am-11:00am.
Age: 6+
Group Size: 4
Group Leaders:  Lizzie Eisenbud, MS, OTR/L; Julia Imposimato, MS, OTR/L

We are excited to introduce a new summer enrichment series. Mindful Movement will be a two day experience in a small group (1:1) setting. We will explore mindful practices including yoga, meditation, and the power of positive affirmations. It will be an exciting mix of movement activities and crafts.

The goals for the members are to improve fine motor skills, coordination, bilateral coordination, social skills, boost confidence, and gain a positive sense of self. Participants will be required to follow a group plan and will have the opportunity to work with other peers to achieve a common goal. They will need to follow multi-step directions to complete fine motor craft activities. We want this to be a positive and fun experience for all!

Cost: TBD (Some of this may be covered by insurance-ask us!)

FOOD EXPLORERS

Wednesdays 10-11am
Dates: 7/20-8/10
Lead Clinicians: Sarah Birdsall, Deirdre Patch, Lizz Ramirez, Phoebe Russell

Playing with food is fun! In fact, it’s a great way for children to explore new foods, be creative and work together. During this in-person camp, children will make fun creations with healthy foods. They will be encouraged to explore food using what they see, feel, smell and taste. We will support them in learning ways to navigate foods that are new or different through a range of activities including books, art and simple recipes.

  • Cost: $260 (some of this may be billed to insurance).
  • Call or email us if you are interested, and we can determine what the cost will be for you.

HITS FROM THE HEART BOXING CLUB

Tuesday, August 2nd and Thursday, August, 4th
Time: 9am-10am
Age: 12+ Group Size: 4

Group Leaders: John Chambers, MS, OTR/L; Matt Aubrey, COTA/L; Sean Walsh, AAS

During this two-day camp we’ll not only learn the many physical benefits which boxing & circuit training provide, but also uncover the deeper lessons within. We’ll be uncovering the foundation of mental wellbeing through overcoming the biggest opponent: one’s self.

Campers will get a full-body workout through a series of counselor-guided stations, to improve endurance, bilateral coordination, proprioception, strength, and body awareness. The circuit will include mountain climbers, burpees, punching bag, cross-crawls, square jumps, and various other plyometric exercises. In addition to the physical elements, we’ll delve further into the mental components of boxing, which make it so beneficial for building self-esteem, improving self-regulation, and reducing stress.
