Successful communication with others is at the heart of every relationship. When an individual has difficulty communicating what they think, know or want, or has trouble sharing ideas, experiences, memories, and personal feelings with others, it can be frustrating and disheartening for both the individual, and others in their life. No matter how or why an individual's communication is affected, be it due to articulation difficulties, trouble socially connecting with peers, or difficulty understanding language, we understand how important it is to effectively get to the heart of the problem and improve interpersonal communication.

We believe strongly in establishing a solid, positive relationship with each of our clients and their families, using a neurodiversity affirming approach, and embracing special interests. This is because we know that great things happen within a trusting, caring and invested relationship!

Declarative language and co-regulation are our primary tools that help us be present and meet our learners in each moment. Under the thoughtful and nurturing guidance of the therapist, we observe the underlying skills necessary for successful communication grow, blossom, and develop.

Peer Projects offers individual and group speech, language, feeding and social pragmatics therapy to clients of all ages, from infants/toddlers to adults, both in person and over teleleath. While our clinicians come from varied clinical backgrounds, we all care very much about continuing our education as we go. As a team, we strive to stay up to date on research and cutting edge clinical ideas that will be most impactful for our clients and their families. For example, team members have received training in areas including, but not limited to: Natural Language Acquisition (NLA or gestalt language processing), AAC, interoception, Trauma-Informed Care, RDI®, Thinking Maps®, Brain Frames®, Social Thinking®, Hanen, executive function, PROMPT, Cultural Responsiveness and DEI, reading, written expression, Framing Your Thoughts, early childhood development/early intervention, sensory processing and more. We hold all of our therapists in the highest regard and are committed to matching individuals with a clinician who will best meet their needs.

Depending on your learner’s age and individual needs, we invite you as parents and caregivers to join in on individual sessions at a frequency that is best for your learner. However, whether you are in the therapy room or not, we invite open communication to ensure our goals match what is most important in your learner’s life, and will provide home activities to reinforce the skills practiced in our sessions. We also welcome collaboration and communication with other therapists and teachers in your child’s life.
